My unending love affair with Iceland continues! Ólafur Arnalds in Camden may not be Reykjavík or Seljalandsfoss, but it's the closest I've managed to get to the island this year!

July was my recovery month! While I hadn't become spectacularly sick on my return from Africa, my stomach wasn't coping with the continent change all too well (sensitive immune system, 0/10 would not recommend). Coupled with having to continue my course of malaria tablets for another 30 days after returning from Africa - side effects include nausea (check), vomiting (check) and sensitivity to the sun (double check) - I was not exactly a happy bunny.

That said, I did manage to drag myself to a few exciting things...

Around this time last month, I was being followed by a peacock.

Not by any means an aggressive peacock but I hadn't really expected to see one when we arrived at Harrop Fold Farm. Cows, sheep, chickens, the odd donkey... Those we saw too but peacock doesn't exactly spring to mind when you think of farm animals.

It's rare to discover music that perfectly expresses emotion but I found it yesterday seeing my favourite Icelandic composer, Ólafur Arnalds, perform in Leicester Cathedral.
